Hale Terrace House extension by Pride Road Architects

Hale Terrace House extension by Pride Road Architects. Wayne and Sam live in a 3 bed Victorian end Terrace in the heart of Hale Village in Altrincham, Cheshire. They approached Pride Road Architects back in July 2015 to reconfigure and extend their ground floor.

The house is quite narrow, and you had to walk through the dark dining room to get to the kitchen at the rear. The garden was cut off, and generally it was really dark.

We started with a half day concept design workshop. And then stuck to the final layout we came up with. We then applied for planning permission and building regulations. There were 3 Party Wall issues, which took a while to negotiate. The build started in January 2017, the majority of the works were completed in 5 months.

Estimated Cost £60,000

What was the best thing that Pride Road Architects Did? The best thing that Pride Road did was the idea not to have the patio doors at the back onto the garden but to move them 90 degrees and have it on the raised patio on the side and have the bi-fold doors onto there. What advice would you give to other clients? Move everything out of the house during the build, put it in storage. we spent too long moving things from room to room and they still got plaster on them! What could Pride Road Architects have done differently? Nothing! Pride Road Architects were great! Did the Project come in on budget? Yes
